What inspires this project?

We are inspired by the education of future generations of technology professionals and leaders. We believe in education as a driving force for innovation, development, and social transformation. This new campus will be a space that fosters talent, creativity, and excellence in the formation of those who will build the future of the country and the world, all with the ITBA hallmark.

Why is a new building necessary?

The goal is to centralize the university’s operations in a single location to foster collaboration, assembly, and joint work, thereby forming a cohesive community of knowledge.

The new building embodies the challenge of conceiving a university for the next 50 years, represents our institution’s vision, and brings together the voices of our community of professors, researchers, students, and staff. Technological transformation is advancing rapidly, and education must keep pace with these changes.

What will be the purpose of the new building?

It will drive an era of learning, research, and work that will elevate educational excellence and enhance the value of our graduates. It will serve as the cradle for the leaders of tomorrow and the platform to consolidate ITBA as a global reference in technological education.

Our objective is to construct a new headquarters that allows the ITBA community to be connected both internally and externally, generate opportunities for exchange, and provide a flexible and inspiring infrastructure prepared to host an interdisciplinary, cutting-edge academic offering, adapted to the idea of change.

When will the construction of the ITBA Campus commence and conclude?

The construction of the new headquarters is an ambitious project that has required careful planning and the procurement of resources. As part of the Campus’s financing strategy, our historic headquarters on Av. Madero has been sold, and the current Technological District headquarters is currently in the process of being sold.

Concurrently, we are actively working on obtaining the necessary final permits. We are prepared to commence construction by the end of the current year 2025, pending the successful culmination of these preparatory stages, and the inauguration is projected for March 2028.

How will this building improve the academic and student experience?

The new campus is designed to transform the educational experience, integrating cutting-edge infrastructure with spaces that foster creativity, collaboration, and innovation.

It will feature flexible classrooms, state-of-the-art laboratories, interdisciplinary workspaces, and common areas designed for gathering and project development.

Not only will it accommodate new teaching methodologies, but it will also strengthen the bond between students, faculty, and researchers, promoting an active, connected, and committed community. Furthermore, the environment will be adapted to be accessible and sustainable, thus enriching the comprehensive education of every student.

Why is this project being proposed at this time?

We are currently undergoing a key moment of technological, educational, and social transformation. The speed with which science, engineering, and innovation evolve demands spaces that accompany and enhance this evolution. ITBA is and has historically been a benchmark in education for excellence, and this new campus is a concrete response to the demands of future education.

In turn, it is a response that arises from constant dialogue with our community: students, faculty, graduates, strategic partners, and institutions that share the vision of building an educational ecosystem that is more dynamic, inclusive, and prepared for global challenges.

Where exactly will the Campus be located within the Innovation Park?

The new ITBA campus will be located in the Innovation Park, in the Núñez neighborhood, a cutting-edge technological, educational, and scientific hub. The Innovation Park is designed to be an epicenter for activities related to innovation and technological development. This space fosters collaboration among entrepreneurs, students, researchers, and innovative institutions, both public and private, at a national and international level.

This space will house 4 universities, research and health centers, national and international companies, and more than 50 technology start-ups.

Its location, in a strategic area of the City of Buenos Aires, positions it as a neuralgic point for the ITBA community, promoting a fluid connection among key stakeholders and the development of a collaborative ecosystem among diverse institutions.

The ITBA Campus will be situated on two of the three lots owned by the university within the Innovation Park. The main entrances will be located on Av. Udaondo and Bavio, providing a convenient and visible entry point.

Additionally, the building will have direct access from the Park’s central pedestrian walkway, facilitating connection with the rest of the area’s facilities and creating an accessible and integrated environment for our students and the entire community, as well as for visitors.

Why is the Innovation Park a convenient location for ITBA students?

The decision to locate the ITBA Campus in the Innovation Park was supported by a comprehensive study on the origin of our students. This analysis demonstrated that the vast majority come from the City of Buenos Aires, primarily from the neighborhoods of Palermo, Belgrano, and Núñez, extending to the north of the city.

This information was key to defining a location that offered accessibility and connectivity, facilitating daily commuting and promoting greater participation in university life. The Innovation Park thus provides a strategic, secure, and easily accessible location, in alignment with the needs and habits of our student community.

How will the new building benefit students?

The new building will directly benefit students by offering a learning environment aligned with the highest international standards. It will feature state-of-the-art classrooms, laboratories equipped with cutting-edge technology, concentration spaces, and rooms specially designed for project development.

It will also help reduce the saturation of existing spaces and accommodate the growth in enrollment, ensuring a superior university experience for all.

How will this building support the university’s long-term vision and mission?

The new building is a strategic investment that reinforces ITBA’s long-term vision and mission. The infrastructure expansion not only accommodates institutional growth but also consolidates its positioning as a benchmark in technological and scientific education in the region.

The new headquarters will allow for the continued development of high-level talent, drive innovation, and respond with greater agility to the challenges facing the country and the world, ensuring that ITBA remains a driving force for transformation with real and lasting impact.

What were the reasons for locating the new headquarters in the Innovation Park (PI)?

After evaluating several potential locations for our new headquarters, we chose the Innovation Park due to the exceptional opportunities it offers for integrating into a dynamic and collaborative ecosystem focused on innovation. This environment not only favors synergies with other universities and institutes dedicated to education and applied research, but also provides ample scope for the future growth and development of our university.

The decision was supported by an exhaustive study on the geographic origin of our students. This study revealed that the vast majority of our students come from the Federal Capital area, with a significant concentration in the neighborhoods of Palermo, Belgrano, and Núñez, extending toward the north of the city.

This information was crucial and helped us understand that the Innovation Park provides convenient accessibility for most of our students, which ensures easy access to educational facilities and encourages greater participation in university activities.

The Innovation Park ensures that we will be at the heart of an expanding community, which is fundamental to continuing our mission of leading and fostering higher education and scientific research.

What will be the future of the other headquarters once the move to the Campus is complete?

As the transition to the ITBA Campus in the Innovation Park is completed, we will proceed to progressively decommission the university’s other headquarters. This process will be carried out in an organized and strategic manner to ensure a smooth transition without interruptions to academic and administrative activities. Each headquarters will be evaluated to determine the next steps, whether reuse, sale, or closure, in accordance with institutional needs and the best interest of the university community.

It is important to note that, regardless of the decisions regarding the sale or reuse of these headquarters, the operation and continuity of the university’s academic and administrative activities are assured. The institution is committed to guaranteeing a smooth and uninterrupted transition for all students, faculty, and staff, maintaining the high standard of educational excellence that characterizes us.

How has the issue of noise been addressed due to the proximity to Aeroparque? (the domestic airport in Buenos Aires)

We are aware that the proximity to Aeroparque could generate a significant acoustic impact on the Campus. Therefore, we have incorporated this consideration since the earliest design stages.

In collaboration with the architectural firm MSGSSV and specialized acoustic consultants, we are implementing advanced solutions to mitigate noise, thereby ensuring that all the building’s facilities offer an environment of optimal well-being and comfort for our students, faculty, researchers, and staff.

Which architecture studios carried out the project? Why were they selected?

The building, a project by the prestigious architecture studio MSGSSV with interior design by MIA Works, will be characterized by vertical integration, a greater presence of green and gathering spaces, external and internal identity, infrastructure flexibility, sustainability, and ease of maintenance. All these characteristics are in line with the objective of constructing a university that enables learning at all times and in all places.

Where can I find more information or speak with someone about the campaign?

You can learn more details about the Capital Campaign and contact its lead representative:

Magalí Chait, Capital Campaign Director: tmchait@itba.edu.ar

Can I become involved in promoting the campaign?

Yes. This campaign is much more than a financial objective: it is an invitation to collectively build the future of ITBA and the nation. Every individual, drawing upon their personal narrative, enthusiasm, and professional network, can contribute to broadening the campaign’s reach and impact.

Becoming involved is a means of leaving a lasting mark, inspiring others, and being an active participant in a transformation that transcends generations. The ITBA community is strengthened by those who believe, participate, and commit.

How is the situation handled during sporting events or concerts in the vicinity of the Campus?

We understand that events at the River Plate stadium can significantly increase the flow of traffic and people in the areas near the Innovation Park, which could affect the mobility and daily routine of our community. To mitigate any inconvenience, the City Government and the Metropolitan Police implement special traffic control and security measures during these days.

As part of these measures, the implementation of a division system similar to that used in the Metrobus is planned, especially on Av. Udaondo, to separate the circulation toward the River Plate stadium and thus minimize any impact on access and mobility in the university campus area.

The Ministry of Infrastructure of the Buenos Aires government has already launched the plan to reformulate the ‘Labruna’ bridge, between the River Plate stadium and the new Innovation Park, to connect vehicular flow from the Illia highway, Lugones avenue, traffic coming from Ciudad Universitaria, and from Avenida del Libertador. The new bridge is designed to triple the circulation capacity for vehicles, but also for pedestrians and cyclists. The project consists of readapting the bridge through the incorporation of new vehicular entry and exit ramps for the avenues and a pedestrian walkway with dimensions appropriate to the new pedestrian and cyclist demand.
