What is the Innovation Park and what can be found there?
The Innovation Park (Parque de Innovación) is an initiative of the Government of the City of Buenos Aires, designed to be an epicenter for activities related to innovation and technological development. This space fosters collaboration among entrepreneurs, students, researchers, and innovative institutions, both public and private, nationally and internationally.
Focused on key areas such as education, health, and exponential technologies, the Innovation Park seeks to create an ecosystem that facilitates the exchange of ideas and promotes synergies that drive progress and transformation across various sectors. Here, participants have access to advanced resources and unique opportunities to develop solutions that address the current and future challenges of society.
When does the construction of the ITBA Campus begin?
Where will the Campus be located within the Innovation Park?
The ITBA Campus will be strategically located on two of the three lots that the university owns within the Innovation Park. The main entrances will be situated on Av. Udaondo and Bavio, providing a convenient and visible entry point. Additionally, the building will have direct access from the Park’s central pedestrian walkway, facilitating connection with the rest of the area’s facilities and creating an accessible and integrated environment for our students and the entire community, as well as for visitors.

What facilities and services will be offered at ITBA Campus?
The ITBA Campus will consolidate all of the university’s operations currently spread across three headquarters: two in the Technology District of Parque Patricios and one in the Microcentro (Downtown). The new ITBA headquarters will house modern classrooms, state-of-the-art laboratories, administrative offices, and other essential services, transforming into the academic and administrative heart of our institution and forming an integral university campus.
What were the reasons for locating the new headquarters in the Innovation Park (PI)?
After evaluating several potential locations for our new headquarters, we chose the Innovation Park due to the exceptional opportunities it offers for integrating into a dynamic and collaborative ecosystem focused on innovation. This environment not only favors synergies with other universities and institutes dedicated to education and applied research, but also provides ample scope for the future growth and development of our university.
The decision was supported by an exhaustive study on the geographic origin of our students. This study revealed that the vast majority of our students come from the Federal Capital area, with a significant concentration in the neighborhoods of Palermo, Belgrano, and Núñez, extending toward the north of the city.
This information was crucial and helped us understand that the Innovation Park provides convenient accessibility for most of our students, which ensures easy access to educational facilities and encourages greater participation in university activities.
The Innovation Park ensures that we will be at the heart of an expanding community, which is fundamental to continuing our mission of leading and fostering higher education and scientific research.
What will be the future of the other headquarters once the move to the Campus is complete?
As the transition to the ITBA Campus in the Innovation Park is completed, we will proceed to progressively decommission the university’s other headquarters. This process will be carried out in an organized and strategic manner to ensure a smooth transition without interruptions to academic and administrative activities. Each headquarters will be evaluated to determine the next steps, whether reuse, sale, or closure, in accordance with institutional needs and the best interest of the university community.
It is important to note that, regardless of the decisions regarding the sale or reuse of these headquarters, the operation and continuity of the university’s academic and administrative activities are assured. The institution is committed to guaranteeing a smooth and uninterrupted transition for all students, faculty, and staff, maintaining the high standard of educational excellence that characterizes us.
How has the issue of noise been addressed due to the proximity to Aeroparque?” (the domestic airport in Buenos Aires)
We are aware that the proximity to Aeroparque could generate a significant acoustic impact on the Campus. Therefore, we have incorporated this consideration since the earliest design stages.
In collaboration with the architectural firm MSGSSV and specialized acoustic consultants, we are implementing advanced solutions to mitigate noise, thereby ensuring that all the building’s facilities offer an environment of optimal well-being and comfort for our students, faculty, researchers, and staff.
How is the situation handled during sporting events or concerts in the vicinity of the Campus?
We understand that events at the River Plate stadium can significantly increase the flow of traffic and people in the areas near the Innovation Park, which could affect the mobility and daily routine of our community. To mitigate any inconvenience, the City Government and the Metropolitan Police implement special traffic control and security measures during these days.
As part of these measures, the implementation of a division system similar to that used in the Metrobus is planned, especially on Av. Udaondo, to separate the circulation toward the River Plate stadium and thus minimize any impact on access and mobility in the university campus area.
The Ministry of Infrastructure of the Buenos Aires government has already launched the plan to reformulate the ‘Labruna’ bridge, between the River Plate stadium and the new Innovation Park, to connect vehicular flow from the Illia highway, Lugones avenue, traffic coming from Ciudad Universitaria, and from Avenida del Libertador. The new bridge is designed to triple the circulation capacity for vehicles, but also for pedestrians and cyclists. The project consists of readapting the bridge through the incorporation of new vehicular entry and exit ramps for the avenues and a pedestrian walkway with dimensions appropriate to the new pedestrian and cyclist demand.

All these actions are designed to ensure that both access and activities within the campus proceed normally, thus minimizing any impact on the studies and mobility of our university community.
