To mark the realization of the Future Building project and with the aim of integrating the entire ITBA community, various activities and actions are being carried out. These initiatives seek to communicate, design, think about, and establish a link with the new main campus.
“Ideas in Connection” (Ideas en Conexión), “IeC Student Capsule” (IeC Cápsula Alumnos), “Inspiring Buildings” (Edificios Inspiradores), and “Getting to Know the Innovation Park” (Conociendo Parque de Innovación) are some of the programs launched for the university’s students, faculty, and staff.
During 2022, the first edition of Ideas in Connection was held, inviting faculty and staff—organized into interdisciplinary groups—to conceptualize the common spaces of the Future Building around three core themes: mobility, playful spaces, and green areas.
This year, the IeC – Student Capsule was launched, inviting students to develop projects for the student meeting areas at the Financial District and Rectorate campuses. Specific objectives include raising student awareness about the use of playful space as a creative learning environment and understanding that the physical space can stimulate curiosity and teamwork.
The activities have multiplied, adding new proposals such as the “Inspiring Buildings” series, which involved visiting the headquarters of companies like Mercado Libre, Coca-Cola, Accenture, and INVAP, as well as different universities: the Balseiro Institute, the University of Chile, and the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. “Getting to Know the Innovation Park” tours are held every month, inviting attendees to see the facilities of the recently inaugurated space in the Núñez neighborhood. During the visit, people can see the land where the ITBA Future Building will be constructed, along with each of the different spaces and actors that will make up this ecosystem of science, technology, and innovation. Each session is unique and allows for interaction among various faculty members and collaborators, collaboratively envisioning the Future Building.
