IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology

Welcome Message from ICIT 2020 General Co-Chairs

The IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology (ICIT) is one of the flagship conferences of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IES). This prestigious event is held every year in a different part of the world. The aim of this conference is to provide a forum for the presentation and discussion of emerging industrial technologies and for professional interactions. Additionally, it serves as a conduit for channeling advanced technology to the regional industry.

On behalf of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, we warmly welcome all of you to ICIT 2020, February 26-28, 2020 in Buenos Aires Institute of Technology (ITBA), Buenos Aires, Argentina. This year’s ICIT arrives for the first time to Argentina, with a selection of near 200 papers, that were topically accepted through 12 technical tracks and 6 special sessions. A plethora of activities includes keynotes, tutorials, panels, and several one-day-activities.

ICIT 2020 attendees are invited to network at a variety of social events, including the welcome reception (Wednesday, Feb. 26), Fine Wine Tasting (Thursday, Feb 27), One full Day at Estancia in Buenos Aires Country side, covering technical and Social Activities. Attendees, our distinguished guests, will enjoy delicatessens in morning and afternoon coffee/tea breaks, and lunches. The venue is at Madero Campus of the Buenos Aires Institute of Technology, the only private University in Argentina specialized in Engineering, Technology and Management. For over 60 years the University has been shaping students with values such as innovation, creativity, entrepreneurial spirit and leadership with degrees in Bachelor, Master and PhD programs.

Buenos Aires, the birthplace of Tango is, like the dance itself, captivating, seductive and bustling with excited energy. Atmospheric old neighborhoods are full of romantic restaurants and thumping nightlife, and Buenos Aires’ European heritage is evident in its architecture, boulevards and parks. Essentially safe and tourist-friendly, sights, nightlife, gastronomy and the arts are concentrated in a few central neighborhoods. Palermo has jacaranda-perfumed parks, trendy bars and independent boutiques. Recoleta houses old money, grand hotels and a grandiose necropolis. Puerto Madero is slickly urban but has a nature reserve. San Telmo is old Buenos Aires, ideal for a steak dinner and a tango show. Artsy Avenida Corrientes ‘never sleeps’. But, actually, all of Buenos Aires is insomniac, you can enjoy a good meal or find a place to have coffee with friends 24 hours a day, all year round.

We would like to thank the numerous volunteers and sponsors that have made ICIT 2020 a unique experience to attendees. With kind regards,

Maria Inés Valla Juan J. Rodriguez-Andina Miguel Aguirre

This 21st edition provides an international forum for discussions on the latest research and developments in industrial electronics and associated technologies. We would like to acknowledge the contribution of all members of the Technical Program Committee, namely the Co-Chairs for the technical tracks of the conference, the Special Sessions Co-Chairs, and the Special Sessions Organizers, as well as the reviewers, who provided valuable comments for improving the quality of the papers included in the program.

The keynotes this year feature:

Engineering Industrial Cyber-Physical Systems. by Prof. Armando Colombo, Fellow IEEE (Feb.26)

Energy Context in Argentina and the current status of renewable, Prof. Santiago Barbero (Feb.28)

In addition to technical papers, ICIT2020 program features a wide range of complementary activities for professional development, with emphasis on women in engineering, and engagement of students and young professionals:

  • The Students and Young Professional Activities, which include invited talks from industry and a workshop on entrepreneurship focused on UN Sustainable Development Goals.
  • The Women in Engineering Forum, featuring invited talks.
  • IEEE-IES R9 Chapters Workshop.

ICIT 2020 is also pleased to offer three tutorials on hot topics, covering “Data-Driven Cyber-Physical Resiliency of Electric Grid”, “Electromagnetic Compatibility of Switched Mode Power Supplies” and “Model Predictive Control of Power Electronic Converters and Drives”.

We very much hope that you find the Technical Program enjoyable, stimulating, and precipitous of discussion. On behalf of the Technical Program Committee, we would like to thank you all for attending and supporting ICIT2020 and helping make it a success.
